stift-heiligenkreuz

Can anyone give me guidance on the feasibility and logistics of visiting this monastery and its environs as a day trip from vienna city centre? Many thanks. Y

It is possible. You need to take a train from Vienna to either the town of Mödling or that of Baden, both of which lie to the south of the city. From each town%26#39;s railway sation you can get a bus to Heiligenkreuz. Precise directions and times will depend on where in Vienna you are staying or start your journey, but via Mödling it takes about 1 hour 15 minutes and via Baden 1 hour 30 minutes.

Norman tells you the way - can not add to that.

But,I assume that you are aware of the recent %26quot; smash hit %26quot; CD %26quot; Chant on Music for Paradise%26quot; by the friars. Some now call them the Music Monks.

Top 10 on the charts in England - very popular here.

Even on YouTube.

This just adds to the history in this beautiful place.

If you do not already have it - their website

www.stift-heiligenkreuz.org

available in english too.
