Hi TAers,
My wife and I want to take a boat from Vienna to Budapest this August. Do you know which company does that, how expensive it is, and what the departure times are like?
Thanx in advance,
GA

Sorry, I hadn%26#39;t seen any information recently on this topic, and I assumed things might have changed, as they often do in parts of the world.
As to the link you provided, I see only 2-day-trips to Budapest. We%26#39;re hoping to go directly as we have hotel reservations already.

My apologies, after checking the website again, they do have the 5.5 hour one way trip for a whopping 95 euros. Not exactly a bargain, we will probably take the train and save time and money.
Thanx for your help,
GA

I believe that you make a good decision.
In my opinion and as mentioned many times before-
The train is much faster , more comfortable and much cheaper.
Your time and money better used in either city for good sightseeing.

Shipping always sounds extraordinary but isn%26#39;t worth the money and time. As mentioned, trains depart quite often and are more comfortable. If you wanna ship the danube, you should contemplate taking a tour through the Wachau valley with its vineyards and cozy villages. This would probably take your breath.

Considering doing some kind of boat trip out of Vienna, Budapest, or both. Will depend on our schedule and just what happens.

One of the best tours - a day to Melk and a cruise on the Danube through the Wachau
check the ddsg website again for this.
