Does anyone know which tour company is the best for one day of touring in Salzburg including transportation from Vienna and seeing the Sound of Music tour there. What else should we be expecting to see on the tour? We will be there in July. How much should it cost when we do it with an orgainzed tour in one day?

unfortunately there is no organized tour from/to Vienna including the Sound of Music tour. There is a day tour to Salzburg where you see all the Salzburg sights and parts of the area where SOM was filmed but do not expect any SOM details on this tour. You may find details at following link:

What many visitors do is to catch a train from Vienna to Salzburg (they operate quite often and have a good standard) and join the Original Sound of Music Tour by Panoramatours (to be found also on Tripadvisor) at 2:00 pm. Thats%26#39;s the true SOM experience! If you leave Vienna in the morning you have some time to enjoy a walking tour in the historic city center and enjoy the SOM bus tour in the afternoon, taking the train back to Vienna in the evening - thats what I would suggest.
