Around Salzburg...?

Ive just been looking online / on google earth about places to go in the Saltzburg Region. Me and my wife are spending up to 5 days (depending on how we feel) in and around saltxburg in August. We are going to have 1 and a half days in Saltzburg and then perhaps rent a car for 2 days.

Can anyone recommend a nice 2 day trip ion that area. I have seen Konigsee / Obersee on Google earth, both of which look very picturesque, and also Ice caves at Werfen (and a few other places).

Is there anywhere else?

Our alternative is to travel on to Munich earlier and spend 3 days in Bavaria? Which would be best.

Most visitor are very interested in the (mountainous) lake region, where the UNESCO protected village of Hallstatt is located. Hallstatt also has got a great salt mine.

The village of Obertraun is famous for its ice cave that is really recommendable to visit (if you are not handicapped).
