we visit austria every summer and will stay in lech for 1 week but also wonder if anyone knows of any small villages with hotels with good food at a reasonable price.

Which area of Austria were you thinking of exactly? I guess in the Alps too?!
Are you searching for a remote area? Not very touristy, but beautiful and traditional?
|||
definetly looking for somewhere non- touristy and in the tirol region

Two places I can recommend from my travels are the Achensee area with the small town of Pertisau, easily reached by train from Jenbach and the entire Stubai Valley, especially farther up toward Neustift.
At Pertisau, check out the Sporthotel Entner (excellent food) and in Neustift we stay either at the Neustifterhof (excellent staff and outstanding food) or a bit closer to the glacier at the Hotel Fernau. I still remember their huge buffet - definitely not traditional morning repast.

I real gem is the East Tyrol - it is just wonderful and by far not soo touristy than the Tyrol.
The Defereggen Valley is really pittoresque, f.e. St. Jakob.
