We got back from an amazing trip to Vienna several weeks ago.
We flew into Bratislava, and took the bus from the airport to Vienna. Please note that the Brastislava airport sometimes doesn%26#39;t have Euros, so you have to pay the bus fare in krones, which are sold at the currency exchange. The only problem with this is when we arrived into Vienna without any Euros. Thankfully the metro accepted credit cards; the bus dropped us off at a metro station, but it was far from the city center. It may be helpful to come with some Euros and some idea of where you need to get off the metro.
I have to tell everyone about our great wine tour. We booked it through Viator.com, which has ideas for day trips and can book just about anything. It was a day trip, riding bicycles through the Wachau Valley and tasting wine along the way in small villages.
Our tour guide, Adam, runs this great business called The Travel Shack in Vienna. It just opened, and the store is a bar/resource point/rental place for bikes etc. It%26#39;s geared towards travelers who want something a little different, but the prices are amazing. Our tour was so fun, and he really had so much knowledge about the area, the wine and Vienna itself.
We also saw a concert of Mozart and Strauss in Schonbrunn Palace and it was amazing. We wish we had time to see an opera as well, but time didn%26#39;t allow.
Hotel de France was a great location from which to explore the city.
We had a great time and will gladly return!

How did you feel after you had left the final village? Sounds basically great - drinking and biking! Your laughter could probably even be heared in Vienna..... :-)
Great to hear that you%26#39;ve enjoyed your stay!
