I am flying into vienna and staying for 9 days. I would like to see vienna salzburg prague and budapest. we are renting a car. what is the best route to take. thanks

You should buy some road maps upon arrival in Vienna or download for instance GOOGLE EARTH to get an overview, where the places are loacted to each other.

As you will visit three large cities and one smaller, but also a very exciting one, I%26#39;d recommend to remain on the motorways to ensure fast transportation. From Vienna to Salzburg take the motorway A1, from Budapest to Vienna the M1 which becomes the A4 in Austria.

This is the reason why I wanted you to download GOOGLE EARTH or anything similar, where you can glance onto the geography.

Vienna is between Budapest and Salzburg, Prague Northerly of the Vienna-Salzburg axis. If you drive from Salzburg to Budapest you would touch Vienna again. I%26#39;d suggest to perform a circle instead of a polygon. Enjoy a few days in Vienna, rest from the flight instead of rushing to the next point of your itinerary. Drive to Salzburg %26gt; Prague %26gt; Budapest %26gt; Vienna. As the airport is located East of Vienna, you would not need to enter Vienna again on supposition you approach from Hungary.
