Is there snow in April?

Hi,

We were thinking of going in April 09 for Easter which is the week of the 4th-11th April and we were wondering if we would get snow.

This year in March to Bulgaria and the snow was awful...very slushy, more like ice and very difficult to ski in.

Have no fear and go.

There would be a lot of snow.

In case of emergency, there is Hintertux nearby (free buses), where is always a lot of snow.

Normally the ski season ends about the end of march. The resort will try to extend the season due to the possibilities of many visitors during this time especially with schools closed.

I would think no snow at all in town.

Mayrhofen has an extensive snow making system and they will try to have good snow above,but it all depends on temperatures - who knows!

regarding Hintertux Glacier - when snow is not good elsewhere - every skier has the same idea and heads there - too many skiers heavy traffic even with bus transfers - then long lift lines - not worth the time and trouble during snowless holidays.
