family ski trip lech march 09

we are planning a family ski trip to lech in march 09 and would ike to stay in an appartment. I have looked at the Anna Maria and fuermesli.

I would be booking independently as I can%26#39;t find any tour operators who offer appartments. Does anyone know either of these two? Are they near the ski school? My children are very young and couldn%26#39;t take a long walk.

Also, will I be ok hiring ski equipment, passes on arrival. I%26#39;ve never done a D.I.Y trip before and it feels a bit daunting.

Thanks for reply. I%26#39;ve had a look. Problem is, map is not terribly clear as to where they are and doesn%26#39;t give distances to the key areas. (i.e. ski school etc). But it was very useful to see them and others so again, thanks. Best wishes, Francesca

We stay at the Anna Maria every Xmas. It is literally on the doorstep of the main lift and the ski school meeting place is just outside the lift. There is a really good hire shop next to the Anna Maria. If you stay there the owners are very hospitable and will help you to sort everything out that you need, the lift passes also double as house keys, so Gunther will arrange these for you too. They have 2 children, so are child friendly! Hope this helps.

Why don%26#39;t you phone the Anna Maria and speak to Gunther or Andrea, they both have excellent English and if they can%26#39;t accomodate you, will be able to recommend somewhere else.

No I%26#39;m sorry, I don%26#39;t recall seeing them. If you go to the lech tourist board site, they might be able to send you their brochure, which is very good. Also they could advise you too.
