3D 2 N itinerary- any suggestions?

hello, will be going on my first trip to salzburg in 2 days%26#39; time.

will be arriving at noon on Thursday 12 June, and flying back evening on Saturday14 June.

Here%26#39;s what i%26#39;ve planned:

Day 1- will be about 3pm after we%26#39;ve checked into hotel and have a little rest. plan to explore the city and visit the fortress for the rest of the day. (is the fortress in old or new part of city?)

Day 2(Friday)- continue to explore old city in the morning (as i heard there%26#39;ll be limited access after 1pm due to euro football). then go to Mirabell garden about 12-1pm to catch no.150 bus to St.Gilgan. back in salzburg city in evening and continue to walk around.

Q1- is afternoon/half day enough to explore St Gilgan?

Q2- how long is the bus journey? how often does the bus run? how much is the bus fare?

Q3- weather forecast says there%26#39;ll be rain %26amp; humidity of 60%, is it still advisable to go to St.Gilgan? will we miss out lots considering the rainy weather?

Day3 (sat)- start off 8.30am-take bus no.25 to unterberg mountain, take cable car up to view city and alps. the catch the bus again to hellbrunn palace. and back in the evening to go to airport.

Q1- do we buy the ticket to Hellbrunn palace ( and get down at untersberg, then use the same ticket to go to Hellbrunn palace or do we need to get 2 separate ticket?)how much is bus fare?

Q2-how long is the journey to Untersberg mountain? %26amp; Hellbrunn palace? is Hellbrunn palace visit a must?

Q3- again it%26#39;ll be rainy according to weather forecast. will this affect the scenery much?

anything else i miss/should add onto my itinerary?

any suggestions are welcome, thanks!

Regards,

Eve

Hi Eve,

I wish I could help you more, but we%26#39;ve always used a car. What I can tell you is that the fortress is in the old town. We found the tour and interior to be sparse and kind of boring, but the views overlooking Salzburg from the fortress are beautiful! Salzburg is a beautiful old town and very easy to walk around and see everything on foot.
