German Rail Pass to Salzburg

I wanted to make a daytrip to Salzburg while visting Munich in November and was wondering if my railpass is valid. I checked the raileurope website and it states that the Rail Pass is valid to Salzburg but is it also valid for the return? maybe i am reading into it too much...

Yes, the %26quot;border%26quot; in the tariff system is Salzburg Hbf. So you are allowed to take any train to Salzburg...

Mind that a rail pass does usually not make much sense as a Bayern-Ticket (valid Mon-Fri 9am to 3 am next day, Sat/Sun mighnight to 3 am next day on all S,RB,RE,IRE trains and all means of local and regional public transport in Bavaria, also bus,tram,u-bahn,s-bahn in Munich) is only € 19 (single) or € 27 (for 2-5 passengers).

Travel time on the RB/RE trains is only about 15-20 mins longer compared to the faster IC/EC/ICE trains.
