I would like to go to Duernstein either by cruise from Melk or from Salzburg by train. I really want to climb up to Kuenringer Castle.
The question is: Are there lockers available for my baggage in Durnstein? Where is it (at the boarding place of the cruise or at the train station? as it determines how I get there.)
Thanks a lot.

As Dürnstein is a very small place, don%26#39;t expect any storage facility. Maybe the station building of the nearby town of Krems features a locker room.

Thanks a lot. But anyone knows if there are really lockers in Krem / Duernstein? As it will be extremely inconvenient and difficult to climb up the mountain with such a heavy baggage. I may have to give up visiting Duernstein because of the lack of lockers, which is really a waste.

Dürnstein railway station (a small stop) does not have any luggage storage facilities.
The next larger station (where you also will have to change trains) is Krems. Krems does have lockers.

Another possibility would be to contact the Dürnstein Tourism Office and ask them, if there%26#39;s any possibility.

As mentioned the Dürnstein train station is not big - usually no rail staff there - even to a lack of automatic ticket machine- you can however buy tickets at the tourist office or on the train from driver ( at least the last time I rode this train.
With luggage it is not a quick and easy walk from the boat dock.
The Dock is located on a promenade along the Danube. You must walk up a series of relatively steep steps to reach the main part of town or walk downstream along the promenede perhaps 250 meters , then turn left and up a less steep walkway to the town street near to the Dürnstein east gate - from there about a 10 minute walk to the train station- signs Bahnhof to follow ( Bhanhof - german for train station.
.
A smal cafe is just next to the train station with a small garden -perhaps they could keep your luggage while you tour.
But I know of a quick, inexpensive, easy solution to your transfer- and luggage question please send me a private message on trip advisor with your approximate dates of travel and number traveing with you-
I can then send you more info on this.

Sorry Bahnhof is correct spelling.
