Take the EINFACH-RAUS-TICKET and familarize with the restrictions:

Well, it depends on from where you start the journey to Switzerland. From Vienna it is not possible, from Bregenz you just cross the border. Please try the website link I gave you in another thread.

You could also acquire a discount card of ÖBB for retired citizens.

In general, local tickets are valid for the same day. There are one-way tickets and daytickets.

Long-distance tickets (if you travel for more than 100 km usually) are valid for some days, return tickets for one month. Same with international tickets. They are also valid on ANY train, so you can catch any train you want at any time.

The VorteilsCard SENIOR is for women older than 60 and men older than 65... and gives you 45 to 50% off inside on austria and 25% off on cross-border travel for the part outside of Austria.
