EARLY morning in Innsbruck

My friend and I, both young females, will be arriving in Innsbruck from Italy by train at 4:00 a.m. on a Saturday morning. We are a little concerned about safety - is it safe to wander the city alone at that time? Should we wait in the station until the public transport starts running?

If it is safe, can anyone recommend some short hiking routes to watch the sunrise? We found one sunrise tour, but unfortunately it is on Fridays. Is there a trail we can walk to from the station and hike for a few hours? Innsbruck.info offers suggestions for trails, but it%26#39;s hard to tell how far they are from the station.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Austria is a very safe country especially in the provinces. You won%26#39;t experience any problem, although common sense is always necessary. The only subjects you could encounter live in or rather close by the station. To wander around is great idea to see the sunrise and the less populated city centre. You would have to wait for public transport to start services around 5am to get around easily.

Twilight begins about 30 minutes earlier.
