Hi! We are going to Zell am See for a week but we are planning to visit a few other nearby places as well (e.g. Krimml, Kaprun, St. Johann Pöham, Werfen). It seems that the week card offered by SVV might be cheap for us (two adults) but how are those zones calculated? Do we have to fix the zones we are going to visit when the ticket is bought or is it enough to fix only the number of zones? Is the number of zones needed just the number of zones we are going to pass through during the week? Thanks!

Still another question: if we buy a one-way ticket between two places, can we get off between them (for visiting the place) and continue the trip still with the same ticket? Do we have to ask the conductor to mark something on the ticket? Thanks!

The best tickets for one day visits are day-tickets, valid until midnight. You can stop at often as you want. Cost is: 2 times single ticket.
Single tickets are only valid for the next connection, no interruptions allowed.
If you travel to Salzburg, ask for a ticket %26quot;mit Kernzone%26quot; (%26quot;with Kernzone%26quot;). Kernzone means that you can use all means of public transport in the city of Salzburg. For a day ticket, it is only € 1,80 more.
Week-tickets are only valid on a certain leg, so they are only a good idea if you plan to get for example from Zell am See to Salzburg 3 or more times. There is no ticket for the whole network.

Zones...
The zones systems works like this:
1 Zone for the start
all zones you are passing thru
1 Zone for the destination
You can indeed ask, if you can get a week ticket for ALL zones... but better calculate the other trips as a ticket for all zones will cost a lot.
For pricing, just use the trip planner:
