Three of my friends and I are trying to plan a vacation for July. We are 25 years old and looking for an adventurous trip filled with culture, sightseeing, and nightlife. I%26#39;ve heard great things about Austria. Can anyone tell me if it is a trip fit for four twentysomethings?
Thanks!
ps - if not, I%26#39;ll take any advice on where to go (we%26#39;ve already been to Rome, Florence, Paris, London and Dublin).

We love our winter week in Seefeld and would not be without it. But I am no longer in my 20s !
A suggestion - what about Edinburgh ? I am biased of course because I live there, but consider:
Edinburgh Art Festival
26th July - 2nd September 2007
Starbucks Edinburgh Jazz %26amp; Blues Festival
27th July - 5th August 2007
Edinburgh Festival Fringe
5th - 27th August 2007

I love Seefeld in fact love all of Austria, I dont think Seefeld will give you the nightlife you are looking for in the summer, in the winter sking season yes but not the summer. How about Prague? it%26#39;s cheap, plenty of culture. sightseeing and nightlife

Austria is a fantastic country to visit. Even though I am 46 and my wife is 38, I strongly encourage a visit there. We went from dec 17- jan 5 06/07 and what a fantastic time we had. The culture and history is fantastic for all ages. We travelled by car 3700 kms in the 16 days we had a car and still walked a ton and ate a ton. If you go it is easy to budget which we tried to do but decided once we got there that if we never make it back we have to do what we want when we want and had a fantastic time. We did go to seefeld and the views up and down to this town are incredible. You are just entering the foothills to the west alps. But hte town itself is very alpine with great painted window dressings and a very special woodcarver who does fantastic hand work. Could br a great ski area but it was a very rare no snow year this past season.
If you would like pictures e-mail myself at dotsoff@shaw.ca and I will be glad to share any info on Austria with you. Over 3500 pictures taken. Go and enjopy in any season its beautiful.

Hi Sarah
Austria is probably my favourite country I have been too. It%26#39;s picturesque and the people are wonderful
However, there is a distinct difference between winter and summer tourism and the type of people they attract, especially in the smaller villages
In the winter the clientele is a lot younger than the summer and I am afraid for you that the nightlife reflects that. In summer there is very little in the way of nightlife, and what there is is very quiet

Hi Sarah
I love Austria too but i think it might be too quite in summer for you
I could recommend Newcastle in England if your looking for a party city nothing beats it we have culture, history the beach and the countryside well worth a visit Castles within 1 hour 3 Cathedrals and a nightlife to die for

If you%26#39;re going anywhere in Austria, make it Vienna! Vienna is possibly Europe%26#39;s most beautiful city enriched with elaborate churches and breathtaking palaces.
Shopping in Vienna is full of many pleasantries; much of Vienna%26#39;s shopping district is pedestriansied and offer a wide variety of facilities.
Vienna is also a haven for lovers of art. The Austrian capital offers a colossal amount of museums displaying some of the world%26#39;s finest art from many different centuries.
As for nightlife, whether you%26#39;re looking for opera, theatre, cinema or just a selection of bars to drink the night away, Vienna has it all.
Go to Vienna - that%26#39;s my tip - Wien erwartet Sie!
...or if Vienna doesn%26#39;t take your fancy, I suggest Berlin. Although not a beautiful as Vienna, Paris or Rome, the German capital quite possibly has Europe%26#39;s best nightlife. Bars are permitted to stay open 24hrs a day.
Also Berlin is great for cultural and historic tourism. You can explore the remnants of Nazi Berlin and the struggle of post-war Berlin with its occupation by the allies, the construction of the Berlin Wall, of which a mile-long section still stands today as a memorial along the River Spree. You can also discover modern Berlin as it rediscovers itself after 28 years of division by a 96 mile-long concrete wall. The city is under construction even today as Berlin attempts to glue itself back into one. The new central railway station (Hauptbahnhof), opened in May 2006, is a masterpiece, and Potsdamer Platz, Berlin%26#39;s nucleus for shopping and entertainment before WWII, divided and left as a wasteland between East and West Berlin during the Cold War, is today again regaining its former importance and its reconstruction is a wonderful sight.
Berlin or Vienna? It%26#39;s up to you!

We too are planning a trip. We are looking for advice as to where to stay between Vienna and Salzburg. Any recommendations. We will rent a car when we get into Austria from the Czech Republic.
