Good naked spas in south Austria

Hello,

We (me and my GF) are planning a trip to central Europe. We will fly to Verona, Italy, and from there we are planning to make trips in the area, including in the nearby countries.

We would like to visit a classic European spa, which includes the usual facilities, like steam-room, Jacuzzi etc., and which is men and women mixed, and in which you go naked without bathing suits.

The problem is that we do not want to go to a place where there are a lot of old and ill people who come to the spa to heal their illness. We just want a place where there are young and health people like us, who come to the spa mainly for enjoying the environment.

So if you can recommend me on a high level mix naked spa, which is attended mostly by young people, We will be grateful! (our trip will be in north Italy (Verona), so we like to hear recommendations about places in Italy and also in the nearby countries, like Slovenia, Austria, Switzerland etc., which are pretty close to the border with Italy).

Well, as SPAs are mostly enjoyed by people with much spare time and money you will have to deal with elderly ones. But there are of course differences in the customer structure of various SPAs.

Most modern and fully privately operated SPA hotels have a great relaxation area with exciting steam baths, saunas etc. accomodating a good mix of customers. I have been to SPAs in Bad Blumau and Laa/Thaya (all far away from Italy) where I enjoyed a great atmosphere with moreless great audience.

Austria%26#39;s saunas and steam baths are normally visited naked with at least one towel to sit on. Some folks are too shy what is accepted either in most premises. I believe that Italy is likely to be more conservative.

One thing I noted in my research for a trip to South Tirol next month is the preponderance of wellness hotels and spas in that scenic region. Nearly every town offers at least one of these full-fledged experience accommodations. These also tend to be priced higher than standard lodgings (and one reason I don%26#39;t plan to spend a night there, because spas are just a distraction as I am passing through).

However, you will want to scope out these very places. Try venere.com or www.suedtirol.info for starters. Certainly the larger towns will have them, but I was surprised to find them along the road from Lienz to Brixen (Pustertal), Canazei (Grödnertal), around the major cities of Bozen, Meran, and even as far south as Salurn and Tramin (ww.bolzanosurroundings.info)

Thanks a lot for the answers.

Do youngers visit the places you wrote or it is mainly for older people?

(I know there is no guratnee, but as I wrote the kind of people is important to me)

There are no SPAs that are preferably visited by youngsters. Furthermore I believe that young people are basically rather shy .....

I just mentioned the premises because I have been there and could not see many injured people receiving special treatment. Additionally I liked the general atmosphere in comparison to some Viennese public pools centers, where you often see strange people and the quality is not as high.

The question is at what age someone is old...?

Because I wrote that I experienced a mixed audience what also includes people in their 30s and 40s.

we had a wonderful time at Laa en Thaya. Not a place for healing illnesses but for relaxation for both young and old. It is not a disco club for young people only!

Nudity is the norm at all sauna and jacuzi areas.

We have stayed at the Hundertwasser inspired Bad Blumau which is also excellent. There are thermal pools including Vulkania Welt which is 38deg C and outside so you can lie under the stars. There is a nude sauna/steam/light complex if you wish. Much of food is organic in the restaurant. It is also not a healing Spa but a centre for relaxation/pampering. We are in our 40s and took our two kids 10 %26amp; 6 although as we stayed outside European school holidaysthey were alone in the kids club. Bad Blumau is about 50km east of Graz in the Styrian countryside.l I fully recommend it.
