Just need some updated info on this market. I didn%26#39;t see much in the topic search. I stopped by here for a few minutes my first trip to Vienna, but this time I want to spend some time exploring.
Is it open everyday? What are the hours? Any suggestions of foods we should try? I think we might use it as a place to get some decent priced eats during the day.
Thanks!

The naschmarkt is open daily except Sunday. I have been there at 6:00 and find places open with many shopping.
The flea market only on Saturday. Best visted early on Saturday-again 6:00 you already find bargain hunters. not the same as in prior years- much more junk , used clothing including fleas. Very few ifany suitable antiques or collectibles.
The police have visited some times and collect various goods - so times unfortunately change.Watch your wallet or purse too on Saturdays especuially.
As you probably know , you can find most any type of food there- from sauerkraut from a barrel , vinegar, all forms of cheese, meat, seafood, fish ,vegetables
olive oil etc. etc.
Few bargains to be found - one must shop carefully.
But you can find most anything and shopping carefully - good quality.
But some excelent food available from Döner Kebab ( many places) to sit down restaurnats some turkish places with good priced and OK food.
The Cafe Drechsler is open 23 hours a day- has excelent daily specials, a midday menu, at a good price and a place to find breakfast after a long night .
www.cafedrechsler.at
you will find the menu and prices there-
many come here after an evening at a theater nearby.
closed only 2:00 - 3:00

Thank you. We%26#39;ll be visiting during the week so I%26#39;m glad to hear that it is open. I%26#39;m more interested in the food so no problem about the shopping things being on the weekend.
Looking forward to the Kebabs! My husband fell in love with those when he was studying at the university.

If you and your husband like kebabs, you MUST try this place at the Naschmarkt called The Kebab Konig Mostafa or something very similar to that. I don%26#39;t recall exactly where it%26#39;s at in the array of everything, but I know if you%26#39;re coming up from where the flea market would usually be on a Saturday, it%26#39;ll be on your left. They have a display of some Turkish and Arab packaged foods out front, so it could be easy to miss, and outdoor seating is located along the side of the building.
I went to Vienna last summer with a small class and we all ate there on a whim - it was, hands down, the best kebab most of us had during the whole two weeks, and for others, the ONLY kebab even worth trying. We ended up going back there 3 additional times because it was just that good and the service was excellent.
That%26#39;s just my two cents! :) Enjoy your visit! I was ready to stay in Vienna - I fell in love fast.

Stop off at the Gegenbauer vinegar stand. They have about 50+ types of vinegar to try. Amazing!
