Our hotel is located opposite Westbahnhof. How do I reach Ringstrasse from there - we want to take a trip on Tram 1 or 2

Very easy transfer - less than 10 minutes-
Take the U-3 UBahn ( subway) found in the lower level of the Westbahnhof- direction Simmering to the Volkstheater/ Dr. karl Renner Ring stop rise to the surface where you find the Ring and both #1 and #2 - signs will direct you.
Transport tickets - (single ride , 24 hour , 72 hour etc.) available from automatic machines or a ticket office one level above the UBahn tracks.
Be certain to validate your ticket in the blue box you will pass as you walk toward the train.
