Vienna Airport to rly. stn. to catch train to Innsbruck

Pl. advise from how to go from Vienna Airport so as to catch a train to Innsbruck. How much time is reqd. ? and from which station, train is to be caught? We will be flying in from Milan.

Upon arrival in Vienna take the airport coach to the railway station %26quot;West%26quot;, where all trains to Innsbruck depart. Price: 6€

From landing to departure you should allow at least 2 hours, better 2.5h.

What I forgot to mention is the option to take a domestic flight.

www.aua.com (if you go back to Vienna as they only offer return travel)

If you don%26#39;t arrive before November, you can also contemplate taking FlyNiki.

Do you travel from Milan to Innsbruck VIA VIENNA???

Mind that the train from Milan to Innsbruck takes 5:28 hours... if you don%26#39;t visit Vienna, it%26#39;s total nonsense and takes MUCH LONGER to fly via Vienna.

Thanks for the advice. Actuaaly we wanted to fly to Innsbruck from Milan but I believe that there is no Austrian Air connection. We hold return tickets from Delhi to Rome via Vienna and we are not paying extra for the return leg of journey from Milan to Vienna.

The tip on travel from A.port to Stn. was helpful. Thanks again.

On second thought, if we do travel from Milan to Innsbruck,I guess, we save about 2 to 2.5 hrs., and spend nothing extra since we will be holding the Eurorail pass, which in any case would be used on the Vienna-Innsbruck sector.

So do you suggest taking a train to Innsbruck from Milan?

How much travel time from: A. Milan to Innsbruck and B. Vienna to Innsbruck?

Vienna %26gt; Innsbruck approx. 4h 45min

Your flight from Milan to Vienna is NOT part of your journey home as there is a longer layover in Vienna, which you would use to go to Innsbruck?

Anyway, I just wanna make sure that you must take the flight to Vienna if being in the whole reservation. Airlines may cancel your reservation if you skip a flight!

Thanks. I will check from the airlines.

Milan to Innsbruck is about five and a half hours (including changing at Verona) as mentioned by Robbi in a reply above.

As per advice, we have talked to the airlines and the Milan-Vienna leg has been struck off. Now we will proceed direct by rail from Milan to Innsbruck. This way we will reach Innsbruck earlier. It was a good suggestion and I am indeed grateful.

That day we shall tour Innsbruck. Any suggestions will be looked forward to.

The next day in Innsbruck, we will go to Mittenwald and in the evening proceed to Salzburg where the next day we have booked tours for Sound of Music (Panorama) and Lakes and Mountain.

The day after, we proceed to Vienna, where we will have two full days. One day we have kept for visiting all places on Hop on Hop off bus. Are there any charges for visiting the Palaces; Opera house or St. Stephen Cathedral? Also any suggestions where we can spend the second day ? Thanks.
