i%26#39;m travelling from prague to vienna via train next week and would like to know if the train arrives in sudbahnhof or westbahnhof? also, how long does it take to travel from one station to the other by the cheapest means of transport?

Train should arrive at the Sudbahnhof.
From There to the Westbahnhof take streetcar #18 found just outside of the Bahnhof. about 15 minutes
Ticket can be purchsed at automatic machine.
1,70 euro.

Trains from Prague arrive at Südbahnhof. As your intention is to reach Westbahnhof I suggest to deboard one stop before Südbahnhof, namely Wien-Simmering, where transfer to subway line U3 is available. This line takes you directly to Westbahnhof within 20 minutes. (only recommendable when coming inbound from Prague)
You could also remain on the train until termination point and then take tram line #18 directly to Westbahnhof. The option including subway is slightly faster and more comfortable as there are still older trams with elevated cabin (in case you have suitcases).
Price for all: 1.70€
