im planing on catching a train from vienna to linz, what are my best stations to depart from, and how long is the train journey, and were would i be able to get prices for this trip.

Trains to Linz originate at Railway Station West. I personally prefer the ICE as this type of train offers a lot of amenties.

Usually two trains per hour... better take the faster ICE or OEC trains. The OICs stop more often... but also very comfortable.
Fares are the same at any day and time in the year, no need to buy the ticket in advance. Just get to the station, buy your ticket from the machine, ticket window or for a little surcharge from the conductor (only cash)... that%26#39;s it.
