eating out in Salzburg

It%26#39;s our first time in Salzburg. We were wondering are there any special tasty not too expensive restaraunts anybody could recommend. Any kind of help would be appreciated.

Just came back, would recommend Stieglkeller garden terrace below the fortress. Also, the gardens and dining halls of Steinbrau, other side of town, near the river.

At both you can eat cheaply or extravagantly depending on appetite and wallet. All local specialities and nice ambience.

I just also came back last Thursday and would highly recommend Augustinerbrau in the old town. If you just want to go for informal dining and enjoy local food and beer. You%26#39;ll enjoy their strong brown ale either in the traditional tavern or outside in the beer garden. There are a selection of food stall inside to go nicely with the drink. You can also bring your own food with you and just enjoy the beer. There is a grocery store called Billa opposite Hanuschplatz bus stop where you can get everything from fruit, vegetable, cheese, sausages and freshly baked bread. I hope this help. Enjoy!
