Anyone been here in October?
I%26#39;d like to know anything about the place.
We enjoy walking and know the scenery will be fantastic but if anyone can recommend other things to do or see.
We will have a car and are spending a week in the area, flying in and out of Salzburg.
Any info welcome- thanks!

Hi MagicStar,
We were in Zell am See (just for a day) the 1st of November last year. Unfortunately many places were closed (most signs said they closed Oct. 31). We were one day too late for many shops, but not too late to enjoy the magnificent scenery! Next trip, we will definitely spend more time there! The previous year (2006) we passed through the area and drove the Grossglockner Pass. Spectacular! This drive starts just outside (south of) of Zell am See. You could spend an entire day leisurely going over the pass, stopping in Heiligenblut (beautiful village) at the southern terminus of the Grossglockner road and maybe down to Lienz (where the Dolomites start), before heading back to Zell am See. If interested, our recent photo%26#39;s are at:

Hope this helps.
